Via its advocacy work, EEE-YFU aims to create an enabling policy environment for YFU member organisations to fulfil the common mission.
EEE-YFU’s current advocacy strategies has three key objectives:
- Leverage the role of intercultural learning and secondary school exchanges on the educational and youth policy agenda.
- Develop EEE-YFU’s capacity for evidence-based advocacy.
- Empower members of YFU to take an active role in shaping youth and educational policies and to engage in public debate.
EEE-YFU’s advocacy work focuses on the following areas:
- Intercultural learning
- Global and intercultural competencies
- Learning mobility
- Youth work and volunteering
- Non-formal education
EEE-YFU’s most compelling calls are:
- Recognition of school periods abroad, in order to unleash the potential of learning mobility and remove obstacle for studying abroad.
- More investment in individual pupil mobility and participation of non-profit exchange organisations in pupil mobility schemes within the Erasmus+ Programme.
- Intercultural and Global Competencies to be included and applied in all relevant frameworks and assessment tools.
